Three weeks before the beginning of the new school term, Minister of Education Santia Bradshaw has given the assurance that most schools are on schedule for the September 9 reopening.
She was speaking to the media following a presentation to two scholarship winners of the Melanie Kristin Price Foundation at the ministry’s Constitution Road, The City, conference room yesterday.
“I can assure the public that the majority of schools would be opened for the new September term on time, but I did say we may have had some challenges. Thus far it looks as though we are in a pretty good position and most of the schools will be able to open. There are some however where there may be some difficulties.
“We are ahead of schedule with most of them. There are a few that we have had to also engage additional persons to provide oversight, because the ministry did not have enough resources internally to provide the oversight over the number of schools,” she said. (RA)
